AI pedagogy.

The tools are changing. Our imagination is the starting point.

For schools, teachers, universities and learning institutions.

A letter from James

32 years of making ideas real.

I’ve spent the last 32 years working with technology, as a designer, educator and communicator. My practice has always crossed education, product design and communication: helping people learn, turning ideas into things that work, and making those ideas understandable.

AI can feel overwhelming and frightening. The questions it raises about learning, creative work and the future are understandable. Working closely with the technology and its community has helped me see it as one of the greatest allies in my own practice. It gives me more room to focus on what I believe, what I want to make and what I want to share.

Since the AI boom began, I’ve developed three software-as-a-service (SaaS) products: Vessel Check, Sanction Check and Lifelines. I’ve also expanded my work in interface and kiosk design. I can move more directly from an idea to a working prototype, spending more time on the purpose and less time negotiating the tools.

That freedom matters in education, too. It opens up possibilities for the syllabuses we build, the activities we design and the ways we learn together. I expect AI to become an ordinary part of how we work. The work now is to decide what we want to create, and to keep creativity, judgement and the people we teach at the centre.

I bring this approach to schools, teachers, universities and learning institutions through workshops, teacher development and consultancy. Together, we can turn real teaching challenges and ambitious ideas into thoughtful programmes and practical learning experiences. I’d love to share this work with you.

One practice, three perspectives.

My approach to AI brings together how people learn, how ideas take shape and how we communicate them.

Education

Start with the people and the learning purpose. Build syllabuses, workshops and activities with clear learning aims, creative practice and space for learners to explain their thinking.

Product design

Take an idea into a working form. Use AI to explore possibilities, build prototypes and test how they work, drawing on my practice in software, interfaces, kiosks and physical products.

Communication

Give an idea a clear voice. Work with words, images and presentations to share what you mean, choosing and refining the results with your own creative judgement.

Ways to work together.

Bring your teaching context, your team and an idea you want to explore. We’ll shape the work around your learners and your goals.

Live online sessions

Work with me individually or as a teaching team. Bring a lesson, resource or idea you want to develop. We can explore AI together, build a learning activity and check how it serves your learners.

On-site workshops & consultancy

INSET staff training days and ongoing work with teachers, team leaders and heads of department. Develop syllabuses, creative workshops, programmes and STEM departments around your institution’s needs.

Teachers and students together

Shared creative projects where teachers and students explore, question and make together. Build in discussion and reflection so learners can explain their choices, evaluate AI outputs and show their understanding.

Let’s put an idea into practice.

As Head of Pedagogy at Basepoint, I run workshops throughout Morocco. I also work with educators and institutions through online sessions and on-site consultancy.
